President Donald Trump is telling confidants that he is getting ready to pardon Gen. Michael Flynn, according to a new report.

Supporters of the president have long urged him to pardon his former national security adviser, who was railroaded as part of their ridiculous Russiagate conspiracy theory.

President Trump has told confidants he plans to pardon his former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty in December 2017 to lying to the FBI about his Russian contacts, two sources with direct knowledge of the discussions tell Axios.

“Behind the scenes: Sources with direct knowledge of the discussions said Flynn will be part of a series of pardons that Trump issues between now and when he leaves office.

The big picture: Flynn's pardon would be the culmination of a four-year political and legal saga that began with the FBI's investigation into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and the Russian government in the 2016 election.

The retired lieutenant general is viewed by many Trump supporters as a victim of political retaliation by the Obama administration.
Flynn's lawyers and members of conservative media have accused the FBI of entrapping him and cited his case as part of a broader campaign to discredit the Russia probe.
Earlier this year, Trump commuted the sentence of Roger Stone, another associate charged in the Mueller investigation who the president complained had been unfairly targeted in a political witch hunt.”

Flynn had been originally investigated under the Logan Act in 2016 for having spoken to Russian generals and diplomats before President Trump took office and Flynn officially became the president’s National Security Advisor.

It should be noted that the Logan Act was passed in December of 1799 and since being signed into law has never actually had anyone convicted on the grounds that they violated the Act.

Many constitutional scholars, lawyers, and even Supreme Court justices consider the Logan act to be unconstitutional as it violates Americans First Amendment rights of freedom of speech.

The Logan Act is also widely viewed as being illegitimate not only due to constitutional issues with it but also because it is inconsistently applied and often acts as potential charge to pin onto someone when there is no evidence they have violated any other laws.

Flynn’s lawyer Sidney Powell asserted often that her client had been targeted by former President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice as a way of attacking Trump’s team without justice.

2) If Sullivan should disqualify himself as a party to the proceeding.
